Netstal Use EnviroStart on New Pharmaceutical-Application Injection Moulding Machines for Tech Group in Dublin 25/05/03 Netstal, one of Europe's leading injection moulding equipment manufacturers, have five Synergy model systems at Tech Group in Dublin to be used in the manufacture of high integrity packages for the pharmaceutical industry. The Synergy machines were selected because of their ability to meet the rigorous demands of the industry into which the final products are to be shipped and the EnviroStart was selected as the motor energy control of choice following extensive proving and trials at the Tech Group premises. Each of the machines has been fitted with an EMS (European) 400-TPMEC-30. The installation of the motor energy control at the point of manufacture of the total system has reduced costs to Tech Group not only because the Star-Delta contactor's typically used on the drive motors were no longer required but also because the wiring was much simplified. Additionally of course, in service, the motor energy control maintains the kW consumption of the motor at an optimum level thereby reducing running costs for the total system. The savings that can be achieved on injection moulding machines are dependant on the operational cycle time and the size of the motor in comparison with the peak loads experienced at the die closure point, typically however on tests to date at Tech Group, savings in excess of 20% have been achieved.
